Will a standard porta potty fit through my gate?

A standard porta potty is 43.5 inches wide, so it needs a gate opening of at least 48 inches to pass through on a dolly. Most backyard gates are 36 to 48 inches. If yours is narrower, place the unit at the end of the driveway or on the side yard outside the gate.

Watch for low branches and overhead wires: the unit is 91 inches tall on the dolly. Steps, steep slopes and soft, wet grass also stop the dolly. When in doubt, text a photo of the path before delivery day.

When is a standard porta potty the wrong choice?

A standard porta potty is the wrong choice when guests use wheelchairs, when food is served with no handwashing, or when a dressy wedding expects a flush. Pick a wheelchair-accessible unit for mobility needs, add a handwashing station for food, and choose a flushing unit or restroom trailer for formal events.

Questions people ask before they book

Each answer below is short on purpose, so you can decide fast and get back to planning your job or event. If your situation is unusual or your site is hard to reach, call (314) 408-7740 and describe it, or check the complete porta potty FAQ.

How many people can use one standard porta potty?

One standard unit serves about 50 guests at a 4-hour event, or a crew of up to 20 workers for a week with weekly service.

Does a standard unit have a sink?

A standard unit has a hand sanitizer dispenser, not a sink. Add a handwashing station or choose a flushing unit with a sink inside.

Are event units different from construction units?

Event units are the newer, cleaner-looking units in the fleet and are kept for parties and weddings. Jobsite units are the same design but see more sun and wear.

Does it have a lock?

Every unit has an inside occupancy latch. A hasp for an outside padlock can be added for public or jobsite placement.

Can I get one without a urinal?

Standard units all come with a urinal. A wheelchair-accessible unit or a restroom trailer stall has no separate urinal.
