When do I need a handwashing station?

You need a handwashing station whenever food is served, kids are present, or workers handle paint, concrete or chemicals. OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51(f) requires washing facilities on construction sites where workers use paints, coatings or other harmful contaminants. For events, plan 1 station for every 2 or 3 toilets.

Read the rule at OSHA 1926.51. Farms with field workers follow OSHA 1928.110: 1 toilet and 1 handwashing facility for every 20 workers, within a quarter-mile walk. In hard freezes, water stations are swapped for sanitizer stands so pumps do not crack.

Questions people ask before they book

These are the questions that come up on the phone before people book, answered the same way we answer them on a call. Still unsure about your date, spot or unit? Call (314) 408-7740, or see every porta potty rental question in one place.

Does the handwashing station need a hose?

The station needs no hose or outlet. We fill the fresh-water tank on delivery and pump out the gray water at service.

How many handwash stations do I need for 100 guests?

Plan 1 two-sided station for 100 guests with 2 or 3 toilets, and 2 stations if a buffet or food truck is involved.

Can I use it for a food truck or vendor booth?

Stations work for vendor booths. Confirm with the county health department which setup your food permit requires.

Can I rent just a handwashing station without a toilet?

A station can be rented on its own, for example for an office during a water shut-off or a school field day.
